About Rodizio Brazilian Grill
"Rodizio" means rotisserie.
A churrascaria is a Brazilian steakhouse. Churrasco is the cooking style, which translates roughly from the Portuguese for 'barbecue'.
This is a distinctly South American style rotisserie, it owes its origins to the fireside roasts of the Gaúchos of southern Brazil traditionally from the Pampa region, centuries ago.
The Gaúchos were European immigrants that settled in the Rio Grande do Sul area of Brazil in the early 1800's.
The Gaúchos were superb horsemen and the fertile, grassy plains of the Pampas were perfect for raising and herding cattle. They began importing livestock from Cabo Verde and raising Brazil’s legendary beef.
Churrasco, inspired by these Gaúchos, features large portions of prime meats skewered and slowly roasted over golden embers. The meat is then served using traditional knives, like the original Gaúchos wore on their belts when they rode the plains herding cattle.
The succulent, skewered meats are served continuously to each person. The passador slices thin and tender selections directly onto guests' plates.
This is the tradition of the Brazilian Gaúchos and their unique style of preparing and serving food to their friends and families.
It is a staple of Brazilian life today and the experience we would like to share with you at Rodizio Brazilian Grill.
